My friends in Cairo say it is pretty safe. Not in the Sinai Peninsula though.
Sisi has really improved the stability. And he is death on the terrorists.

Solution. Bring them on an all expense paid trip to the USA to collect welfare.
Kill every man between ages 16 - 40 and the rebellion in the Sinai will end.
President Sisi is doing a pretty good job. The crashed Russian jet was an exception, but it was an inside job that no one probably could have prevented.
Morsi is still in jail, with 2 death sentences.
And the MB Terrorist leaders are still in jail. And will remain so. (very large number of them)
Yeah and if it wasn’t for Sisi, Egypt would be another Libya.

I arrived on Sat. night to join my husband who has been working here for 2 years. Things finally seemed stable enough after the elections went well. I plan to try to get in touch with her. We have significant resources due to my husband’s job and were looking for an effective ministry to invest in. We’ve seen enough in all the places we’ve lived of the abuse of funds so we’re very careful about vetting. Makes my husband sick to see the brand new high end SUVs driven by people being funded.

Obama spent lots of US dollars to put Morsi in place. He tried to sell Egyptians down the river to slavery under Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists. He is still committed to doing that to US before he leaves.
But Egyptians have an ancient culture. They are not stupid people. They are unified and totally behind President Sisi.

Wow! That was a heck of a drive. How long did you take? One of these days, hopefully, I want to do the same thing.
BTW. I go past the Andersonville site every time I head to Florida. Anywhere East of the panhandle anyway. Haven’t visited yet. Heck I guess a lot of people would. It’s not far off I75. God’s country. Bet the Yankees that were imprisoned there didn’t call it God’s country though....
I think I did three maybe four weeks on the road. I would lay out the day’s trip of sights and planned on doing 4 or 5 hundred miles a day maybe less ....

Still too risky for the family. When I was younger and more adventurous, I might have made the trip.
We love Egyptian history but we will probably continue to learn about it from the comfort of our living room. :(
