Actually it is non news for a slow day.

Buildings get old, and demographics change. They close a similar number every few years.

Think about the cities where you live or near to you.

Are walmart stores in all the same buildings they were in twenty years ago?

Buildings get old, and demographics change.

Around Dallas, it appears that it is mainly the newer stores that are closing:

"Two more Neighborhood Markets will close in Frisco at 4268 Legacy Dr. and in Southlake at 2201 W. Southlake Blvd. Both are relatively new stores. The Frisco store opened in Oct. 2011 and the Southlake opened n May 2012." http://bizbeatblog.dallasnews.com/2016/01/wal-mart-to-close-stores-including-smaller-stores-in-texas.html/

The one on lower Greenville in Dallas is also new.
