Using the former Soviet Union as an example, early conservative intellectual Frank Meyers describes Communism as,
"The state form taken by a materialist faith determined to rule the world." Communism is "the final synthesis of all heretical tendencies that have pervaded Western civilization for many centuries." (The Conservative Intellectual Movement, pp. 251-252)
Communism is a secular, philosophically pagan form of heretical Protestant (pantheist) liberalism's inverted exegesis grounded in a chiliastic-evolutionary proclamation of a coming new order grounded in belief in the inevitability of evolutionary progress (from molecule to sea-weed, reptile, ape, hominid, man and then finally god-man) and in the perfectibility of this fallen world.
Like its contemporary Technocratic counterpart, Communism is the evolutionary chiliastic expression of a coming Golden Age and is,
"...the culminating hubris of Promethean man who reaches out for the world and means to remake creation. It is scientism gone political." (ibid)
Around the turn of the century Pope Pius X noted with alarm that progressive thinking was taking hold of the contemporary mind, and in that way taking possession of Western civilization, including Catholic laity and priests. The Pope defined progressivism as Modernism and said its primary doctrine is evolution. In 1907 he declared it a heresy in the encyclical called Pascendi Dominici Gregis.
The Pope noted that Modernist Christian heretics were claiming that Christ is in us (pantheist monism) and that through evolution an immanentist Christ-force progressed and/or emanated from nature spontaneously and of itself.
Since evolution implies continuous change, becoming, and/or progress, Christian heretics claim that immutable (unchanging) truths do not exist, therefore there is nothing immutable in the Bible or the Church....or for that matter in Americas' Declaration of Independence, Constitution, Bill of Rights and Rule of Law. All are subject to change because pantheist monism conceptually dissolves the living, transcendent Christ into nature, thus everything is imaginatively infused with impersonal divine spirit, power, intent, determinism (fate), and motion. Thus claim heretics, religion itself lives and evolves, and must in fact be changed the same as America's founding documents, which are said to live and breathe.
So would progressive ideologues freak out if an insurance company claimed that policies were living and breathing documents? it seems to me the answer must surely be yes.
It is true. Most Progressives are Communists who lack the courage to admit what they really are.
