The guy putting him in the choke hold may have been unnecessary. Boykin looked contained and somewhat cooperative. The choke hold may have escalated the situation. My reaction would be to fight if someone came up behind me and did that to me.
That said, I wasn’t there so I don’t really know.
When you have a belligerent drunk you use submission holds. It’s safer for everyone. Boykin should have to be a walk-on as far as the NFL is concerned.
