She resisted doing her dad’s songs for years, wanting to make her own identity, but that album, as the article said, turned out to be her best seller.

Her uncle (Nat’s brother), Freddie Cole, led the orchestra for that album, and he got as many of the original musicians from Nat’s recordings back together as he possibly could.

We saw her at Wolf Trap a few years ago, and you should have seen the look on her face when it was time to do “Unforgettable” and her dad came on the screen. Very touching.

Both of them are unforgettable, and I suspect that somewhere they’re doing a duet.

We’ll miss Natalie.

Any word on the cause of death?

She had a bunch of health issues from drug use in her early days. Hep C, kidney problems, etc.
