Actually, “Whirlybirds” was a Desilu show, so it’s almost a certainty that Paramount now owns it, like they do with most Desilu stuff.
The great thing about a lot of that 1950s made-for-syndication “filmed” series is how much they visually capture the atmosphere and landscape of their eras, due to on-location filming. Another example that is supposed to be pretty good in that respect is “Rescue 8,” with Jim Davis. I think Columbia (Sony) owns that one.
I was always a little surprised the Jim Davis never attained a little more stardom earlier on in his career. He always held my attention. Clu Gulager was another one.
