MOST owners get rich in some other business then buy themselves sports franchise.
It’s the ultimate ego stroker.

Look at it from their point of view.
They already have fame and fortune from whatever business they were in.
They already have the Trophy Wife and Trophy Mistress.
They already have whatever car, boat or plane that turns them on.
They already own mansions in every state or country that interests them.

What’s left but a professional sports franchise?
The ultimate limited membership country club.
The membership is so limited and the franchises so in demand that current owners can keep out anyone they don’t like.

A sports team is the ultimate leggo set.
New players are drafted every year.
Wheelers and dealers do their wheeling and dealing every year.
Owners hold the careers of highly sought after athletes in their hands and can make or break even the best players.
It is the little league dad complex on steroids.

I was surprised to see him top that “hot seat” list but I guess this has been in works all year.

No doubt, and Harbaugh seems delighted to be back in Ann Arbor resurrecting Bo Schembechler's program. But that agonizing loss to his own brother in the Super Bow with victory just 5 yards away has to be gnawing at him - I think he must have a feeling of unfinished business in the NFL and will likely be back. Harbaugh would be one of the most sought-after HC candidates in NFL history.

The thing about Harbaugh, and really, a lot of coaches who have a bigger than life - over the top personality - is that they often come out of the gates blazing new trails of success.....but then wear thin after a few years.
