Will is getting desperate. All of his chosen ones have bit the dust.
There probably won’t be such an extreme reaction.
The congress will oppose his efforts until the next election.
While the media shows heart-rending depictions of the alleged consequences of whichever of his policies the establishment is opposing.
So it’s easy for them to delay him for 2 years.
And meanwhile set themselves up with stupid media-driven voters to get re-elected and continue.
Trump, or Cruz, is going to have a lot of work to do for the *next* election.
And we need a new ‘conservative extablishment’ to help.
Romney secure the nomination. He attacked Sarah Palin 2007. he attacked Ann Coulter in 2013. He is also an atheist, is opposed to the death penalty, supports amnesty, and supports drug legalization.
Do the math.>>>
well said and there is no conservative party. It might be the death of the GOP but it died along time ago.
George Will a conservative? Who knew?
That was my first thought as well.
Does this mean we’re all gonna die...AGAIN?!?!?!??
Trump was not my first choice, but the more the media and the left hate him, the more I like him.
If George Will was concerned about losing GOP conservatism he would be spending more time blasting the GOP congressmen who passed the last budget bill. George is making a fool out of himself.
How are we supposed to prepare? Fortify our homes? What?
You can smell the fear.
I believe there are a few conservative parties in Europe (Swedish Democrats, LePen in France, etc.). Does George bother to mention which of those parties he’s referring to?
Beautiful summary.
It is the globalists like George Will that need to be forced out of the party. I doubt they would take very many votes with them. All they seem to do is usurp the votes of patriots and Christians.
There is a conservative party?
I thought there were just ‘Pubbies, Democrats, and small change.
‘’Tighter, George! Clutch those pearls TIGHTER!’’
I was thinking, “sphincter”, but “pearls” works, too.
‘’Remember George Will threw a dinner party for Obama in his honor after he was elected ...’’
Yes; he did. And people/RINOs like Krauthammer attended. WTF anyhow?
You are correct, of course. As you intimate, such writing would be inconsistent with his position, which despite the MSM, is not at all that of a conservative but that of an "important public player".
(Sometimes AKA as a "middle of the roader"; one not necessarily for or against an aggressive agenda but one who is willing to publicly ignore, understate or confuse such an agenda to help maintain the status quo.)
GW formally staked out that position by hosting a 2009 dinner at his residence for then president-elect O that included fellow pseudo-conservatives ("IPP"'s) such as Krauthammer, Brooks and Kristol.
O understood the character of the forum and was pleased to accept the invitation.
Merry Christmas to all in FReeperland!
True. Because even Will knows that a grown man in a bow tie professing his love for a Joyful Turtle is just plain creepy.
he was important and relevant once. a long time ago.
Is there such a thing as an anacle?
