When I was little we had an indoors-outdoors cat. My father was neutral on cats. Not a cat lover..... He would would blow cigar smoke in the cats face to make it run off.

Sometimes us kids had to beg him to do this........we would be left howling with laughter.

Sorry your Coon was taken from your life. There are many fine Coon breeders and many deserving Coons available at Maine Coon rescue organizations. Perhaps you can honor your cat’s memory by giving a loving home to one of their breed brethren.

Bijou has not left me for more than 15 minutes as long as I’m at my computer. She has been laying on her C-table next to my desk, getting petted or brushed. Occasionally, she has tried to sneak onto my keyboard tray, heh heh. Smart kitty!

We would do that, except that over the last five years we’ve adopted/rescued four feral kittens, and we have two others. Six indoor cats are a lot. But we do donate to “The Cat House On The Kings”, and support two of their resident cats. Duchess, our Coon, was sooo gorgeous, and so sweet. Adopted her as a feral when I lived in Hawaii.

there are plenty of horses here-including those large dog-sized miniature ones, which make up in meanness what they lack in size, so I don’t see any decorated ones.

Out here, people do not do things like that to pets-the worst you will see is a Chow with a bear clip in summer, and my neighbor’s Yorkie wears cute little sweaters when he is outdoors in Winter. I don’t think any of my 3 cats would sit still to be decorated-one is a Maine Coon-I nearly got shredded last Easter just putting a decorative bow on the head of my 6 lb. brindle tabby-she was having none of that, not even for just a picture...

My condolences-when beloved pets are lost, you do miss them forever. I got my Maine Coon from the animal welfare organization out here over 10 years ago-he was several years old, neutered and had been given up for adoption by the husband of a woman who had been committed to a psychiatric facility.

I’ve seen other Maine Coons there since, along with other near-and purebreds-you might want to check out a privately funded shelter where you are-I fostered a mostly-Persian orange tabby lost baby kitten from there several years ago, too-ended up adopting Titus myself...

Aha-I see you have already got a full house-I used to foster kittens and adult cats for the local welfare league when they had a need-and they like me because I have a cat-friendly Siberian Husky to socialize them with-but I quit doing it after I adopted the little feral brindle tabby I fostered a couple of years ago-I’m just always too tempted to keep the kitty...

That she did-I should have thought that out before trying it anyway-the cat was found living feral in the woods when she was about 2 years old, and I took her to foster and socialize for the shelter so she could be adopted by some quiet older single person with only maybe one other pet-but when she started playing with Titus and my Husky, and sleeping on the bed with me at night, that was off the table, I paid the fee and kept her...

She was-and is-scared of just about everything, hisses and runs in terror if my Maine Coon even looks at her, clings like Velcro to me and only plays with Titus on her own terms. She is an excellent little mouser, though-gets into the corners the two much bigger boys can’t reach.

I also have a 6.5 little rescue kitty, taken from the street with the rest of her litter at 1 week of age. She is the true boss of the house. She actually rules the Coon, who is twice her size.

The Coon is going to the vet Monday, because I think she has a UTI coming on. I hate taking her to an emergency vet who doesn't know her. If she is in real distress tomorrow, however, I will. This was very sudden, just started a couple hours ago. But she's eating and "bright". I hope we can just get to Monday without appreciable distress.

You can also give your cat or dog colloidal silver for UTI’s. Go to the Health Food Store and buy a bottle of 30-50 ppm colloidal silver and put a dropper full in the cat’s wet food 3 times a day for 7 days. Then one dropper full once a day for 2-3 more days.

My sister has her Pyranees on it right now for a UTI. I’ve got my mother on it for a UTI. Works like a charm.
