Simply buy online and have the lower price product delivered to a local ffl dealer near you. Better selection, better price and less bother.
Did you pick the weapon yet? Taurus has a TCP .380 with a good trigger for a lady. Try buds gun shop online where it’s just above 200 with delivery.

Well, it's nice for you if you happen to live in a conservative state. A lot of people aren't so lucky and aren't able to, at the bare minimum, find a job in another state, sell/unload a house, and find another house in another state terribly easily, never mind if they're tied down by family or other such obligations.
I'd sure as hell make it a goal to get to a free state if I lived in Cali, but I understand that for some people it's simply not an option.

You cannot legally buy a handgun “out of state”. You can only buy in your state of residence. An out-of-state dealer can sell you a handgun, but only by transferring to a licensed dealer in your state. That’s Federal law.
California has many added restrictions. What with San Berdoo and all, it is probably a bad time to try and skirt either California or Federal gun laws.
