Angela Merkel Beats Trump for Person of the Year
time ^ | 12-9-2015 | Zeke J Miller

Donald Trump has been named a runner-up on TIME’s 2015 Person of the Year list, losing out to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. But he is the only American political figure on the list–a testament to his surprise influence on American politics this year. TIME’s Michael Scherer profiles Trump for the issue, putting him in the same category as Huey Long, Joseph McCarthy, and George Wallace. “Each terrified some and delighted others, testing the nation’s very identity,” he writes.

The fallout from Trump’s plan to ban Muslims from entering the United States entered its second day, sending candidates off-message as they were force to contend with his comments. All of the GOP candidates have pledged to support the eventual nominee—meaning, possibly Trump—but many found themselves trying to squirm out of the pledge Tuesday. Jeb Bush maintained he would support the nominee, but that it wouldn’t be Trump, an evasion embraced by many of his colleagues. Others, including Ted Cruz and Rand Paul said outright they’d back Trump, as they hope to appeal to his supporters.

Another runner-up on the Person of the Year list: The Black Lives Matter movement, which TIME’s Alex Altman writes has moved from a collection of protests to a burgeoning political movement

Just 2 weeks ago the GOP unanimously said we should put a pause on immigration from the Middle East. Now the GOP calls Trump a racist?

I think Al-Bag-Daddy should be Islamist of the year instead of Merkel.

Angela Merkel Beats Trump for Person of the Year

She is the one-world new world order's ventriloquist's dummy, and reflects "Time" and their lib views.

Frankly, I'd have been very disappointed and suspicious if they had selected Donald.

I think if they had gone back to the old “Man of the Year” award, it would have been easier ... Bruce Jenner.

I think Black Lives Matter should seize the moment and run a candidate for President. What about Al Sharpton?

It’s amazing to watch how Trump runs circles around the media.

Trump says something non PC that can be interpreted as crazy.

The press runs around for days 24-7 screaming about how crazy he is.

Meanwhile Trump calmly tells everyone in all the following interviews why what he said is right and is not crazy, people agree and ...

Trumps numbers go up, press gets egg on their face, rinse, repeat.

Well, if Merkel is a proxy for the mindless, deadly, dogmatic PC Liberal policy of opening up the borders and letting the whole world into Western countries to live off of Welfare while plotting to kill Western citizens, I agree that she should be Person of the Year.

A leader of a European nation who sells it out for the Cheap Labor Express is Time’s Person of the Year?

That is unexpected. I am shocked. It is surprising. /s

Angela joins Hitler as German Persons of the Year. When all is said and done she will cause more permanent damage to Germany than Hitler.

Well if that's the criteria for being on the list, then you HAVE TO INCLUDE OBAMA TOO!!!
