Also, a lot of bicycle parts are made in Taiwan, Italy & Japan. BTW: the remains of Schwinn (after bankruptcy: “Mtn. Bikes are a fad!” -Schwinn 1985) was sold to Dorel (Canada, made in Taiwan & China now). More:
