Obama warns Putin on intervening in Syria's civil war

President Barack Obama warned his Russian counterpart Tuesday against intervening in Syria's civil war, suggesting that Vladimir Putin is aware of the dangers his country faces by entering the bloody conflict. "I think Mr. Putin understands that ... with Afghanistan fresh in the memory, for him to simply get bogged down in an inconclusive and paralyzing civil conflict is not the outcome that he's looking for," Obama said at a news conference in Paris.

That animated gif is VERY misleading, as it is a show of strength. 0dunga would never use force against ANYTHING, let alone a door. He’s too much a p*ssy.

"So...your guess: which one's the man?"

LOL. The one who just got popped in the nose by Turkey???

There are no supermen or miracle workers out there. I predict that people will begin working more closely together to cripple ISIS. Then, the question will be, who gets to run the place? Iran? That may be what Russia wants, but there will be much opposition.

So what will Obama do if Russia tells him where to go? Write a strongly worded letter?

Obama won't stop at a strongly worded letter....he'll make sure it's written in ALL CAPS!

Good point! A better gif would be of him attempting to kick the door and falling flat on his butt when it remained shut. :o)

You got it right in post 7. Obama acts like he is the authority of the world, king of the world and everyone else must bow.

He didn’t get popped in the mouth by Turkey. He got stabbed in the back. They are already regretting it, but not as much as they probably will in the future.

Nope- He’ll impose steeper climate change taxes- what more powerful message to a despot like Putin is there than to tax the crap out of your own citizens? Putin will fold like a cheap suit when he hears that

Useful Idiots, Then and Now

Jeff Jacoby, Globe Columnist
March 13, 2013

On the 60th anniversary of Joseph Stalin's death last week, the Associated Press reported that admirers of the Soviet dictator, one of history's bloodiest tyrants, were flocking to the Kremlin to venerate him as a great leader despite his ghastly record of repression. With polls showing a rise in Russians' admiration and nostalgia for Stalin, observed the Associated Press, "experts and politicians puzzled and despaired over his enduring popularity."

That some Russians express approval for a despot who has been dead since 1953 is distressing, though perhaps not surprising given the ongoing campaign to burnish Stalin's image by Russia's autocratic president, Vladimir Putin.

But even more of a reason for puzzlement and despair is the enthusiastic applause for Stalin by influential American liberals when he was at the height of his bloody reign -- and the willingness of similar propagandists, naifs, and true believers today to sing the praises of other thugs and dictators. ..."

Oh I don't disagree, but as usual we've got the fool in the White House providing the world with the perfect representation of Macbeth's soliloquy:

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury...

The difference, of course, is that the object of Macbeth's perorations tells this tale "signifying nothing", which I suppose in the long run is true, but in our limited view is not - Ohaha's idiocy does much damage.

I said he got popped in the nose, not the mouth. Putin got his feelings hurt, too. But, he is coming around and promising to cooperate with the West now.

Crunch time will come when it is time to replace the Sunni ISIS group with someone else in that geography. Will it be Russia's ally, Iran? There will be a lot of resistance to that.

More than anything else, I think Russia would like sanctions to be lifted. They will cooperate.

These days, you have to do more than just take off your shirt to get respect.

Obama threatening Putin would be funny except it’s American men and women who are put in danger by such rank stupidity.

When it comes to foreign affairs (or, actually, pretty much anything that involves intelligence, strategy, cunning, gamesmanship or patriotism), it’s not that Obama doesn’t belong on the same playing field as Putin. Obama doesn’t even comprehend the game he’s supposed to be playing.

Putin does rings around Barry by simply standing still and watching the fool twirl himself dizzy. What an embarrassment.

I really wish Putin and other leaders would schedule a meeting with him- make sure the press are there- and just as the cameras start rolling, refuse to allow him in the room like they did to him during the climate summit when china snubbed him

I just wish people could remember that the Obama problem will take care of itself in a year. ISIS is going to be more difficult. We need to be thinking of our best interests and those interests may not coincide with the interests of Russia and Iran.
