Oh. Sorry. I figured from the thread it was on yesterday and, sure enough, when I started watching it last night, it matched the description from CaliGirl.

CaliGirl...thanks for the heads-up yesterday on this thread. I really felt like I had a personal connection to the episode with you in the hot-seat. The poor woman to your left! I thought she was going to mash the buzzer button to bits if she first didn’t have a stroke.

You did great. Too bad you didn’t make it to the next round, but I’m sure you had a lot of fun.

The Final Jeopardy question initially stumped me, but then I thought the Constitutional Convention was written in summer 1787 and it took a year to ratify it, so the election was held in 1789. That’s a lot to put together quickly under the countdown clock.

I looked it up in Wikipedia and found it interesting that the first quadrennial presidential election was held from Monday, December 15, 1788 to Saturday, January 10, 1789. I didn’t realize the first election lasted about 3-1/2 weeks! Note that it BEGAN in an even year, 1788. I suppose you could therefore argue that we’ve NEVER had an election in an odd year. I wonder what the judges would have said about that?
