H.R.3799 - Hearing Protection Act of 2015

I just ordered a silencer/suppressor for 7.62 NATO from the silencer shop using my own trust. They were real easy to work with. Can't wait till that bad boy gets here and I'm really hoping I get my $200 back for the tax stamp.

Too many liberal states like where I live in Hawaii, still see suppressors as the tool of assassins.

Getting idiot politicians that cannot get even rudimentary firearm terms correct educated about hearing protection vs. some ninja sneaking about is almost hopeless.

Call them suppressors. Many in the general public think that
a “silencer” will jump off a table and kill them.
But, they don’t have a clue what a suppressor is.

Time to repeal the full-auto prohibition(s) from the NFA.

Running a suppressed .22 for the local woodchucks would be nice.

The problem with that is going to be all the collectors that have spent $5,000-$25,000 a piece on pre-1986 firearms. They will vehemently oppose this.

I have a .22 suppressor coming this winter for backyard nocturnal varmint control. February hopefully.

It's funny the reputation they've gotten over the years mostly at the hands of Hollywood. I have a friend born in South Africa who states that he was shocked to find what he was accustomed to regard as simple courtesy to one's neighbors be relegated to the assassin's toolkit. Mufflers for guns.

The best of these I've fired was for an HK MP5 using subsonic 9mm ammunition. It was closest to the "phtt phtt" you hear in, say, "Dr. No" (which was not, as I thought, a Beretta but an FN 1910 - just looked that up). The worst was a homemade can for a .45 ACP that didn't help much at all. But the biggest surprise was last summer when I took a tactical carbine course that had to be moved inside due to inclement weather. One of the class had a suppressor for his AR good enough to void the need for ear protection and this was inside. I was very impressed. It's on the wish list but I really don't want the hassle of the ATF. Hope's up for the bill but I don't see it passing.

Will do. It's a AAC SDN-6 which will go on a DPMS Gen2 recon. You can see the whole set up here on you tube. Note the lack of hearing protection. I'll probably get a new muzzle break for my AR15 so I can use it on my 5.56mm too. You can see that going on right here.

speaking of phtt phtt phtt, here's the AAC SDN-6 on a 300 AAC black out platform. I definitely see a 300 AAC blackout platform in my future. yes indeed.

No, you are wrong. They are silencers. The inventor of the silencer, Hiram Percy Maxim, called it a silencer.
I know that the tacticool crowd loves a different terms.

But they also call soldiers and sailors “operators”. I smirk at that term, my mom was an operator long ago. Worked for Bell telephone.

Oh, yeah. Baby Bro built one and I am totally jealoused out but he can’t have a suppressor where he is and I can, so I’m perfectly happy to babysit until Kali comes around, which will be when Hell is holding ice-skating contests.

Try a suppressed .22LR using subsonic ammo.

Which came first- the silencers, or the suppressive politicians? Apparently, one is doing a better job, than the other.

I just hope this removes them from the NFA to the point that you can tinker in your home workshop...

I really prefer a Ruger .22 pistol for dispatching coons up in trees. Good times.
