Mystery ghost fleet washes up in Japan: Eleven ships containing 20 dead sailors...

A fleet of 11 ghost ships containing the rotting remains of sailors has washed up on the Japanese coastline, sparking an investigation in the country.

The mysterious ships have given rise to numerous conspiracy theories in the country, as authorities battle to discover the identities of the bodies.

Rescuers told Japanese broadcaster NHK that the bodies of at least 20 sailors were ‘badly decomposed’ and ‘skeleton-like’.

...

It has been impossible to identify the bodies and authorities have no idea where they might have come from.

The only clues as to where the boats may have come from are a scrap of material that appears to have come from a North Korean flag, and writing on one of the boats that seems to read ‘Korean People’s Army’.

Some believe that the vessels are fishing boats from North Korea, as the nation is trying to expand its fishing industry to boost harvests.

Saw this story the other day...creepy and weird. They had all those nets and fishing tackle on board, so they must have run out of water. “Water, water, everywhere, and not a drop to drink...”

Wasn’t the “sea shepard”(pirates interfering with ‘legal’ operations) fleet was it? “Ramming speed aye.”

Can you say surveillance ships? Spy ships are often made up to look like fishing vessels.

Or, escapees from a North Korean prison farm ..??

Teeth could provide enough DNA to identify them.

Anyone who has ever seen a Godzilla movie knows what happened to those ships.

What is weird to me is the fact that 11 ships showed up together after what must have been a long long time at sea. Unless they were tied together.

Well, I'd say the remnants of that flag's a clue as to where that ship came from...

If they were commercial fishermen, then they were poorly trained and equipped. The gear on board is not an indication they were actually fishermen, even if it looks that way. One boat is an accident. 11 boats are a plan. Like the sign says - Korean Peoples Army.

The striking thing to me is the total lack of paint on what looks like a wooden hull - either they were launched that way - without paint, or they have been at sea for a very long time.
