If they find a red, white, and blue basketball, then a team of time-traveling Harlem Globetrotters broke their time machine and couldn’t get back.

Did a search for the name of the archaeologist and nothing but this subject came up in a few links. Must be an off the grid archaeologist.
Odd.

I searched and found that there is a Freie Universität in Germany — but couldn’t find any actual news stories about giant skeletons headed there.

Dement told Cuenca Highlife: “The skeletons show no signs of diseases such as the hormonal growth problems that are common in most cases of gigantism. In all the skeletons, the joints seemed healthy and lung cavity appeared large. One of the skeletons that we have dated was of a female who was about 60 when she died, much older than typical cases of gigantism.”

Skeletons of giants have been discovered for ages. Many have been discovered here in America as well. All have been wisked away to "museums" never to be seen again.

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them . . .

Magellan, the first explorer to find and pass through the strait at the tip of S. America named for him, reportedly encountered natives of enormous height when he and his crew landed during the passage. They may have over estimated the height as “twice that of a normal man”, i.e. 11 or 12 feet, and the stories of the Patagonians were eventually considered fairy tales. But the existence of giants among some Indian populations isn’t a new story and, as with most myths, dig enough and eventually a factual basis will be found.
