Former boxing champion O'Neil “SuperNova†Bell, 41, was shot to death during a robbery just after midnight on November 25 when he exited a MARTA bus in southwest Atlanta. Another robbery suspect victim getting off the same bus was also shot in the hip but is alive, according to 11 Alive in Atlanta.
When police arrived on the scene, they found both gunshot victims lying in the street. Bell, a cruiserweight world boxing champion from Jamaica who fought professionally from 1998 through 2011, was pronounced dead at the scene. The surviving male victim, 28, was taken to Grady Hospital with a gunshot wound to his hip.

I’m so tired of the media tripping over themselves to be politically correct. The constant use of the term alleged makes me nauseous. Everything is alleged. As though it’s possible someone did not shoot and kill this guy... And maybe the whole thing didn’t really happen...

I went to the link for the rest of the story and it is more convoluted and confusing, it appears from the story the police did not shoot them they were lying already shot when the police arrived on the scene, they got off the bus to get to their getaway vehicle that had been carjacked by somebody for another robbery somewhere, no indication of when they were shot before they got on bus, while on the bus or after they got off the bus, or who shot them, I could be wrong about all this.
I don’t know maybe it’s just me and my reading comprehension skills are failing me in my old age because obviously it all makes perfect sense to whoever wrote the article.

It’s not you. More and more “journalists” are unable to write coherently due to emphasis on “social justice” in government schools instead of the the three R’; that and affirmative action hiring.

I, too, was bewildered by the infelicitous phraseology.
But then, you and I (and most of the other posters in this thread) are probably attempting to read too much (sense) into the writer's words.
