I live in a similar northern arc Atlanta suburb, interact with people of the professional class that generally inhabit this part of the world. Let me assure you, that’s not some sort of common local thing. My wife and I both found it highly annoying, can’t wait until she’s gone.

We are in the same neck of the woods here in GreenAcres and I assure you that her speech pattern is not normal for the area.

I suppose we will have to agree to disagree.

And I don’t really know anything about the structure of the show, but I suspect that he has a large say in how it is run.

I always say that he could make good money for his favorite charity if he were to hold an event at which people paid for an opportunity to smack his smug face.

In reality, there is NO SUCH THING as a “New Jersey accent.” People in North Jersey have a NY-area accent, whereas those in South Jersey sound like Philadelphians. All but one of the meatheads on that Jersey Shore show were from New York.

And his “YES!” whenever he got something right, sometimes with a fist in the air, was ridiculous. Glad the Alex Jacob guy won......we burst out laughing when his answer to one Final Jeopardy was ‘what is Aleve’! (and Matt Jackson reminded me of Obama too, a petulant child)

Born in Philly...migrated to South Jersey for a while. New England, Haiti and then The South...

Attempting to Southernize myself with "fixin'ta", "y'all", "darlin'" and dropping any form of the verb "to be" (As in, "The car needs fixed." WUT?!).

After 29 very happy years in the South, still no success wid dat.

But do you still drink "werter" and put your socks in the "drew-er" like my cousins from Philly (who now live in Texas) do?

Despite having spent time in my life in Seattle, São Paulo, and now Florida, I never lost the "Lawn Guyland" accent.

Nah, mostly just sit on da stoop and complain about da Iggles...(and Flyers)!

People know I'm from somewhere in the Northeast, but not necessarily from Philly. Gotta go grab me a hoagie now...(it's a LONG drive to Greenman's now, but probably worth it as long as I can also have a white and black shake...chocolate Breyers ice cream, wid vanilla syrup and full milk...)

Bacciagalupe! Just found out that the son, Dave, who took over Greenman’s from the parents, retired and sold out in 2013. And I can’t even go to the backup of Chink’s anymore!

Your honooooor.... my client is like super not guiltyyy...

She should get her own courtroom "Drama-dy" movie along the lines of "My Cousin Vinny." Instead of Brooklyn accent, we have ... whatever this iiiiis?

LOL!

Nice. Apparently she's a corporate lawyer, so she's on the defendant's side.

And quite good, too.

If I was Fred Gwynne, I'd STILL think she sounded funny.

No matter how truly intelligent she really is IRL.
