Maybe they still blame Reagan. Reagan was blamed for not doing enough to fight AIDS, not devoting enough research to finding a cure, etc.

I never understood the logic, considering that AIDS and VD in general are spread by voluntary risky behavior. The liberal view was that Reagan didn’t do enough to fight AIDS, while the gay community took no responsibility for the voluntary behavior which spread the illness. I just don’t understand.

The gays are to blame because of their refusal to close their bathhouses once the virus was discovered. They were addicted to their lifestyle.
