I have dismissed several so called “friends” in this manner during the last couple years and I am better off for it.

I grew up in a family where one member was always trying to ‘make peace’ between all the dysfunction...and there was a lot of it. It’s the very same dynamic as battered woman syndrome and the farce that plays out trying to maintain ones beliefs and having liberals in their life. It cannot be done.
People either throw their happiness in life away, damage everyone they care about with conflicting rationalizations or go insane/make themselves physically ill. But what they cannot and will NEVER do is have their cake and eat it too.
People ask how they can throw away longtime friends, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers...
Well do you want your wife/husband, kids f’d up by liberalism? Whats more important? Do you want to live in a constant state of conflict running back and forth like a chicken with your head cut off trying to do the impossible?
Life is hard. Choices in life are hard. They must be made because the problem only gets worse when you feed it.
