I agree that all the networks are gunning for Trump and Cruz. Up until the last couple of weeks they handled Carson with kid gloves.
This your source for that?
Yes, that was wishful thinking regarding Trump. Trump could beat Hillary like a drum.
Maybe but the part about the brain was no big deal.
There are multiple sources. Just search Carson and Farrakhan. or Carson and Sharpton.
You really need to understand that the democrats are also gunning for Carson, et al....They run the networks..
Carson has been weakened by a blitz against him and they are enjoying it.
Soon it will be Cruz’s turn.
We don’t need to help them. We need to take the position that any republican is better, much better then a dimowit.
I don't support Carson but neither do I support armchair warriors denigrating a brilliant surgeon on a personal level.
All I can say is that I could not vote for Carson for the same reason I should not have voted for Romney.
I understood his point perfectly. We have brains that allow us to rationally think about issues, rather than succumbing to the "oh those poor refugees" emotionalism. It was a coherent and intelligent expounding of his point, though his transition could have been more obvious, for the sake of the slower listeners.
It is a big deal, you’re a phony, posting lib talking points and articles the way you do. You’re a disgrace to this forum.
Well, I saw what I needed to see..
As I said, I never gave Carson a chance. he is showing up good in polling but it’s more of a sympathetic vote for a black republican.
Because he is black and a republican, he also will draw the vicious disdain of the left so he get’s some kudos to help him fight it off.
There is going to be a lot of movement as we get into Iowa. There always is, and I can’t predict who will emerge, but I can predict that there is a good chance that it will not be who you think it will be. LOL
Most FReepers have never graduated from law school, but most of us are smarter than Obama or Hillary.
I’ve got a genius mechanic, but his spelling is terrible.
Just because a person is brilliant at one thing does not mean that this person is brilliant in all areas.
I haven’t seen or heard many people here on FR say negative things about Carson as a surgeon. That’s not where people take issue with the man.
They have a problem with his horrible political positions and his lack of common sense.
But every time someone points out his problematic positions, someone chimes in with “but he’s a gifted surgeon!”
So. What.
Unless he’s being elected to lobotomize Nancy Pelosi (something that I could get behind), then his surgical ability means nothing. We’re electing a POTUS. Not a Pelosi Lobotomizer. (darn it)
The fact that he’s a good surgeon doesn’t make him a decent human being and it doesn’t mean that he has common sense.
Boo Hoo! I’ve never heard someone whine so much about a transcript of a candidate’s interview.
I don’t know who will win Iowa at this point, but Iowa has proven not to be a good bellweather anyway. I’ve never seen an election this wild. We have two good men in the race and the country needs them both.
But they need to be consistent and fair.
BTW, I am hoping for a Cruz Presidency as well and am not a Carson supporter
“All I can say is that I could not vote for Carson for the same reason I should not have voted for Romney.”
Yeah, I can understand the premise of that. But I would not train muh guns on the doctor. He’s not a establishment candidate as Romney or Bush, or Kasich, or Cristy....etc..
After 2012, and the re-election of Obama, I think it’s the American voter who needs a butt kickin. The GOP as well because they are dissing the base.
The establishment therefore needs to lose this election. Unfortunately they don’t seem to care much.
Carson is a citizen outsider. You have to give him credit for running as a citizen, and the respect he deserves, right, wrong or indifferent on the issues conservatives care about.
Another thing....self identified conservatives run the entire political gamut. It can be irritating, but there really is not a definitive definition.
Trump is a good example of this, He has some conservative views but he is not, in my view a “Conservative”. He seems to have little or no interest in Constitutional issues, like federalism. In fact, everything he says that is seriously popular with the voters seems to me to be anti-federalist as it requires extraordinary executive authority.
Talk about being wary of someone?
IMO there is but one!
Ted Cruz
Good to know. Thanks for your comments.
No, Iowa is not a good bell weather, except when it is...lol
I only refer to it as the start of the major selection process. It is down the road a bit at super Tuesday where the rubber meets the road.
Usually prior to super Tuesday is when internal polling tells the candidate to get out and he/she will try to sell their endorsement in exchange for paying off debt..
Nope. The problem is the denigrating persoanl attacks. He's not an idiot but Trump supporters et al jump around calling Carson such.
We need to stick to policy issues and leave off calling anyone names. Otherwise this election season is going to see us eating one another instead of the liberals. And it will cost us.
Cruz embodies everything a Christian Conservative could ask for in a candidate. I would feel confident with him leading our country and I am impressed with all the detailed policy positions he has released. I think he stands on the world stage as a man who commands respect. Our friends would know they could again trust us, and our enemies would know that they must respect us. We haven’t had that in a while.
