There was another thread discussing Levin’s remarks yesterday. I said there he was wrong on Trump, but correct regarding Rubio. Trump may have been inartful describing Carson’s personae, but correct about Rubio’s mischaractization of Cruz’s position on immigration. Ben Carson is a great surgeon, but a very odd duck. The most obvious example is to have a painting of himself with Jesus, in his house. But also the talk about the adolescent violent incidents, which Carson himself described as pathological.

You are right on, I think Carson is a bit odd and maybe has a bit of a God complex.

I quite honestly haven’t been following politics much, so this is an honest question even if stupid: Is there any chance that Carson talked about his teen years that way because he wants Black teens to realize there is a path for them to succeed even if they have issues, so that Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, etc don’t have to end up Black Panthers?

Obama has done a lot of damage to race relations, and somebody like Carson, if elected, could have the opportunity to reverse that if they can also get the trust of young Blacks while speaking truthfully to them.

I love the candor and guts that Trump has inserted into the race, and I think he would have the gumption to fight our enemies. I think Cruz, though hated by the establishment, is the most trustworthy candidate for that reason. Each candidate gains my respect as they show they are willing to confront the real enemies, and the more they do that and stay away from PERSONAL swipes at each other, the more I respect them. Ultimately we need the conservative fabric to hold together, if we’re going to fix the mess that Obama’s Islamist/communist handlers lawlessly put him into office to do. Ben Carson was willing to tell the truth about sharia’s enmity with the US Constitution; he’s not my favorite candidate but that earnestness on one of the most major issues in America today commands respect even if other weirdness makes him a less-desirable candidate.

Lying about a candidate and manipulating the evidence, on the other hand, is ALWAYS wrong, and that makes the candidate a no-go to me.
