The FBI has expanded its probe of Hillary Clinton's emails, with agents exploring whether multiple statements violate a federal false statements statute, according to intelligence sources familiar with the ongoing case.

Fox News is told agents are looking at U.S. Code 18, Section 1001, which pertains to "materially false" statements given either in writing, orally or through a third party. Violations also include pressuring a third party to conspire in a cover-up. Each felony violation is subject to five years in prison.

If Obama fires the FBI director, the media will try to paint it as justified, and will ignore the leaks.

I am so bitterly distrustful of Obama that I believe the outcome of the investigation was preordained. No matter how extensive the criminal evidence, Obama will pardon Hillary.

And if the FBI investigation should extend into the next presidential administration, no Republican will prosecute a former first lady. She will never go to jail. She knows this.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. I hate it, but that is reality. The Bergdahl fix was in from the very beginning also.

Can you blame people for thinking nothing is going to happen?

Remember when her and Bubba got caught with several hundred FBI files (on their enemies)...and nothing happened?

Remember when Hillary sent her minions to clean out Vince Foster’s office, before he had even reached room temperature?

IOW, the lady has a history of mis-using files, with no penalty.

And this e-mail investigation seems to let a few things slide, right from the start. It is moot, whether or not any of the emails were classified - the act of setting up the private server and withholding/deleting her official business from the national records is illegal. Yet, the sheeple have already been fooled into thinking that a few ‘classified markings’ are what the investigation hinges on.

I think this whole investigation is just a leash, that Barry can tug on when he wants. He’ll get to pick her running mate, etc. But as long as she complies, whe won’t be indicted.

It doesn’t matter how many years each count receives. Hillary will never serve time.

The optics of actually jailing a former first lady have far too much potential for political damage. The Big Dawg will not simply sit on the sidelines and quietly let her go. He will turn the prosecution into a public spectacle.

Don’t kid yourself into thinking otherwise.

Why are they wasting all that tax payer money when everybody knows the fix is in.

The FBI must be giving Obama some kind of distraction

I wonder how much George Soros pays these people to get on Free Republic and surrender to the Democrats.

You left out one of her most damaging mishandling of documents which was Hillary concealing documents while serving on the Watergate legal staff.

No investigation is even necessary. Hillary has already admitted to crimes. The emails already in possession are more than proof beyond a reasonable doubt. This is all a stall for Hillary.

Hillary! 2016

Under criminal investigation by the FBI, yet the leading and most popular Democratic Presidential candidate.

Yes.

This shows how deep the corruption is in this country. In both the democrats and republicans.

Trump is running on the premise that he is owned by no one. No man owns Trump. And as such he is above and beyond the corruption.

It will be interesting to see how all this plays out.
