Her name is Sia and she is just one more out of the many idiots out there today whom I like to call a member of the “mystery famous club”. She is famous but nobody can figure out just what for. It seems we have a problem in entertainment today that anyone with a buck can buy themselves attention and when they get that attention, you see there is absolutely nothing there but complete idiocy. All the brilliant musicians out there today struggling to get an ounce of attention and this is who they shine the spotlight on, absolutely pathetic.

Look at the number of subscriptions. I haven’t yet but it could be evidence of bots at work.
It was all rather bland. Trump probably didn’t hurt or help himself. The prez skit was decent, but not hilarious. He just wasn’t given much to work with. Trump on Jimmy Fallon was much better. But Fallon is better than SNL these days.
Why? Because it can really be terrible even cringey. That's what makes improvisation and live stuff so great and these people so brave.
The show cycles from terrible to great over minutes, shows, weeks, years, decades.
But like the Commedia dell'Arte it is just timeless.
As is Green Acres, Gilligan's Island, Sanford and Son, the Stooges, etc., they are timeless as the grandest opera.
Problem is, you've got to go forward in time a thousand years to see what masterpieces they are; right now as contemporary entertainment they are all just awful.
I'll bet a steak dinner Trump already had the majority of votes coming from that demo. I'll also bet that most of them have no idea most of those jokes are based on his actual campaign.

... give Trump two grades (A to E each) for his recent SNL appearance. One grade for how much he helped his candidacy, and one grade for his entertainment value.
Helped Candidacy: A (exposure to a mostly untapped demo)
Entertainment Value: C (it's SNL, the icon of mediocrity)

Divine, sublime comedy.
Compare any episode of the Hillbillies with the delightful play by Pierre Carlet de Chamblain de Marivaux (1688-1763), 'La Double Inconstance' (1723):
You have Jed as The Prince, Miss Hathaway as Flaminia, Ellie Mae as Silvia, and Jethro as Monsieur Arlequin.
Every episode of the Hillbillies is perfection.
Trump gets a D if I’m grading. During the opening monologue, Larry David yelled from off stage, “Trump is a racist.” When asked for a explanation, David sheepishly responded that he’d heard that he’d get paid $5,000 if he said it. Trump’s reply was horrible: He said, “As a business man, I respect that.” What?! As a business man Trump respects someone who would accept money to spread a lie or, just as bad, respects a business that would pay people money to spread lies? He should’ve said, “I understand some will people pay other people to spread lies, and if I were a former writer for SNL, I might respect that, but I’m not. I’m the host tonight and we have a great show for you, it’s going to be yuge!” The implication would’ve been clear and he would’ve avoided agreeing with that rotgut from David.
I thought the parts he played were hilarious and he came off as a funny guy who doesn’t take himself too seriously. But their regular cast sucks. No wonder it’s a dying show.

I was thinking the same thing. Upon reflection, she is one of the few performers who could walk down the street without need of a bodyguard or a posse, 'cause no one knows what she looks like!

The Beverly Hillbillies was one of the greats.
Drysdale was so funny when it came to money, especially Clampett money, and his driving Jane Hathaway insane.
It's easy to pick out old fuddy-duddies by their attempted response to a show not written for them.

A man fully comfortable as himself in his own skin. Not too many pols can have that said about them. I think Ronaldus Maximus was the last one.
