New Mormon policy bans acceptance of children of same-sex couples

The children of same-sex parents will be banned from blessings and baptism until they turn 18 and disavow gay marriage under a new Mormon Church policy that deems homosexual parents to be apostates, or people who have renounced their faith.

The new policies are part of "Handbook 1," a guide for lay leaders of the Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which has the actively fought gay marriage. It was a Utah case that helped set the table for the U.S. Supreme Court to legalize gay marriage across the country in June.

The changes in the handbook were first posted Thursday on Facebook by John Dehlin, who said he was excommunicated earlier this year for being an advocate for civil same-sex marriage and the ordination of women to the all-male Mormon priesthood. Posting the documents set off a storm in the social media universe.

And a parent, mother or father, who “discovers” they are homosexual, leave their partner to shack up with another of matching genitalia, and somehow through decision by a JWSBH (Judge Who Should Be Hanged) gains custody of child or children. Unless they express a desire or take action to interfere or harm me somehow, oh say like attempting to cut off my head or wanting to use me as centerpiece of a bonfire, I try to refrain from criticizing anyone’s chosen faith. What they believe, even if I may think it’s rubbish, and how they worship God is their business and I cannot understand why someone thinks any religion should alter its tenets to accommodate them. It’s supposed to work the other way around.

Point taken. But I believe Mormons are like Baptists on baptism-- they don't do it with infants anyway. I believe their minimum age is 8.

But your observation would apply 100% on the Christening ceremony, which I believe what the Mormon Faith refers to as infant blessing. This is exactly the position the homo lobby is trying to put them in: make it look like they are taking it out on the kids when, in reality, they are simply declining to bless an illicit family relationship.

The homo crowd craves being accepted as normal and healthy. They are neither.

Exactly. And you can say that again.

“Knowing the homo lobby, they would use their “baptized children” as a battering ram to tear down the church. Kids raised by homo couples have little hope of turning out normal.

If they beat the odds, they can always apply at age 18. I don’t see anyway to win this thing.”

I see your point.

Thanks for this explanation. I didn’t know that.

I’m not LDS, but this action of theirs certainly makes practical sense, but we are living in a time when gays and lesbians brag about infiltrating and destroying Christian denominations, from within.

Notice how the homo lobby NEVER infiltrates or criticizes Islam, where Sodomites are put to death.

The Mormon church is not suggesting that children are, inherently, guilty for the sins of their parents.

If anything, the Mormon church is wanting to make sure parents and children are not placed in a position to be at odds with deeply held beliefs, while still living and being raised together.

You cannot very well expect to send your children to a church, where they teach Biblical truth about marriage being between a man and woman, and expect that not to cause problems when they return to their home of Sodomite adults.

If anything, this clarification protects homosexual relationships, as much as it does anything else.

If they REALLY believe that, then they need to clear out the Boy Scout troop masters they just started letting in.

Therefore gay-married Mormon people should not manufacture or adopt kids.

Agreed. In fact, no homosexuals should be permitted to "manufacture" or adopt kids.

HOMOSEXUAL, because there's nothing GAY about it.

Generally correct, with a glaring exception. Islam. The true-to-the-Qur'an Muslim believes that if you will not convert or submit (acknowledge Islam as superior and pay the Jizya, Infidel tax) that it is his duty to serve Allah by killing you.

There is no Allah but Satan, and Muhammad was his murdering pedophile.

Here is a link to a good explanation of the LDS Church’s logic for this position:

Islam falls into the “cut my head off” category where it becomes my business and laissez faire goes by the wayside. I’ve traveled in Muslim countries off and on for more than thirty years and have had no issues on a person to person level. But when they come here and demand we alter our laws, beliefs, and how we choose to conduct our lives, or especially threaten us with violence I’m perfectly ready to start some slicing and dicing myself.

Their policy on homo scoutmasters has not changed. It is the national BSA who is letting them in. I think there is a thread from earlier this summer posted which said Mormons (who sponsor close to 30% of all scout troops) would not be withdrawing from the BSA at this time but expected them to honor their commitment to let individual scout troops such as those they sponsor exclude homosexuals in adult leadership positions.
