I wonder if this is an extension of the theory that Jupiter was once a “hot jupiter” which is common in other systems, and migrated out to the orbit it is in now. Maybe the migration disturbed the trajectory of another planet to expel it from the system, flipped Uranus on its side, and cleaned up Earth’s orbit of debris.
