This album has been out for over 40 years now. The ‘96 release probably has been remastered and has some bonus material. FM radio in Detroit used to play it a lot.

This was the best live album ever recorded -- by a wide margin.

In fact, the Allman Brothers may have been the best live act ever to hit the stage. Their live recordings are just as good as their studio tracks, which tells you just how good these guys are as musicians.

My Allman stories: although I didn’t know them personally, my band members did. They invited us onstage in Cincy sometime after Duane’s death. We hung out with them, but the incident I most remember was in Hollywood when I was at the Tropicana Motel when a green Vette rolled up and Greg got out. He was wasted, and tried to get a Coke out of the machine but couldn’t so I had to put the quarter in for him. “awwww, thanks man” he drawled, then went upstairs to do drugs with the late Dallas Taylor, CSNY drummer.

I would put it in my top three fav live albums ever. My all time favorite, though, is Little Feat’s “Waiting for Columbus”.

Allman Brothers Band - Live at the Filmore East [Deluxe Edition] 2003.

This is a 2 CD set of the show. I think its the whole show.

They also put out the whole show at The Winterland Ballroom.

A year ago I got to see the Allman Brothers play Live at the Fillmore from start to finish at Lockn Festival. This was one of their last shows before calling it quits.

The first 3 minutes of “In Memory Of Elizabeth Reid” is just about the best three minutes in rock & roll.

My comment to all the Allmans fans - don’t miss Tedeschi-Trucks band when they come through.
