Well, I tend to think that Apple and Microsoft (now that MS is doing hardware/system products) are converging on what customers want. It's not the least bit surprising that they play leapfrog in innovation and development.

And just for the record, Surface Book just came out a week ago and surprised everyone. Apple hasn't been copying it -- they haven't had time! Hell, they probably were as surprised as anyone by it.

You're delusional. Microsoft copies Apple. Period. Examples:

Zune, long after Apple released many models of iPods. CNET regarded it at best as a "high-profile underdog alternative to Apple's iPod"... which promptly failed as an alternative. Zune first released November 14, 2006. Apple's iPod was first released October 23rd, 2001.

Surface vs iPad: The first generation devices under the Surface name were introduced on June 18, 2012 and launched on October 26, 2012.

Surface magnetic cover vs iPad magnetic cover: Surface magnetic cover introduced with much fanfare on same date in 2012 as the Surface, with the onstage demo mirroring what Steve Jobs did with the iPad 2 magnetic cover in March 2011.

Many, many, many more examples abound of Microsoft copying Apple. Oh, another one is a glaring example. Microsoft Windows, long after the Apple Lisa and Macintosh. Need I say more?
