The former boyfriend of a Bogalusa woman is one of two brothers that have been arrested in connection with her death and the "cold and calculated" attempted cover up of the crime, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain said Monday (Oct. 19.)
The body of Nanette Me'Shell King, 41, was found inside a burned-out vehicle outside the village of Sun Oct. 11.
Gary Lee Harris, 53, was booked with second-degree murder. His brother, Ray Harris, 64, was booked with accessory, the Sheriff's Office said.
Gary Harris is King's former boyfriend of more than 20 years. The two have a 17-year-old daughter together.
King had been missing since Sept. 20. Her family had plastered fliers across St. Tammany in recent weeks, seeking any leads in her disappearance.
Strain said during a news conference that King was strangled to death at before her body and vehicle were taken to a secluded area and torched. Detectives have been in contact with the Harris brothers since King's daughter reported the woman missing.
In the initial stages of the investigation, detectives executed search warrants on Gary Harris' property and collected evidence. The evidence collected and inconsistencies in statements provided by Gary Harris led detectives to narrow the focus of the investigation into King's disappearance on the two brothers.
On Thursday, (Oct. 15), Ray Harris admitted to his role in and knowledge of the crime, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office. Gary Harris has not been cooperative with investigators.

It may be a mug shot,but she was Sophia Loren compared to these 2. And regardless they had no right to murder her.
So divorce was clearly not an option.
