Catholics are most definitely Christians.
Her faith journey has taken many years. She is now prolife. She has stated in interviews that she had a personal vision of Jesus. I, frankly, believe her journey to be authentic and real. Being a Catholic in liberal circles, makes one a piranha, so she will not be considered “cool” to her peers. God saves who He will.
