One has to remember what it was like back in the 70's and 80's which is before the present attitudes. There were no DNA or rape kits. A women was to have considered she brought it on herself, etc.

If it were just one woman, but here we have many. Also, many of these women have gone on to be financially successful on their own. So, perhaps, money might not be the motivator.

Also, I have read where Cosby was not a nice person to work with. There was his public, camera on, personality. And, then there was the behind the curtain personality.

“The Playboy Mansion employed a woman who was under-aged?” I don’t think so. She was probably there for other reasons. I had in mind the women I knew who were there to work as cocktail waitresses and so forth.

” I have no idea what the Mansion really is like, but assuming it’s a place to have sex (apparently) for pay, as a client (guest?)”

Although some of that was going on there, the Playboy mansion was much more than that. A lot of the A List Hollywood types, politicians, business VIPs, and others like to hang out with the famous athletes, actors, actresses, and Hefner’s women gusts.

“And, 41 years later?”

Cosby has enjoyed decades of protection enabling to become the alleged serial rapist we are hearing about now. Women tried to get legal help when the statute of limitations had not yet expired, and their complaints were ignored by their attorneys and by the state prosecutors. Only now have these women been able to discover they were not alone, but the statute of limitations bars their ability to act upon this new knowledge. The exception are any girls who were minors and secure a judge’s approval for suing for the current onset of mental anguish (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) as a consequence of this long buried secret becoming public knowledge. This window of opportunity due to the alleged sex crime amounting to child rape appear to be and may actually be contrived to avoid the statute of limitations, but even if so the crime certainly deserves a hearing and consequences.

Yeah, but there was the lawsuit, what was it like ten years ago? The one with the Temple U employee that was settled and sealed after some discovery. Now years after Cosby was making headlines with his cultural statements, this all comes up? I think the incidents are too distant to suspect a conspiracy to get an old man like Cosby. I believe the women were empowered when the issue rose again and they realized many were willing to come forward with similar stories.

Most people had never heard of acquaintance rape (I don’t think the term “date rape” was even in print) in the mid 1970’s and it certainly wasn’t taken seriously by a court of law. An accuser of the status of Bill Cosby only would have sealed the deal.

Yep, there is something that just don’t jibe with this whole story. All these women and not ONE of them said anything for 40 years? Not ONE? Especially against a guy who is a multi-millionaire that anyone of these women could have taken to the cleaners in a lawsuit?

IMO, 40 years is too long to bring any claim of anything!

I’m not defending Cosby’s actions... It appears there is enough evidence to prove he is a perv.

But 40 years!? that’s like another life, who could even remember details from 40 yeas ago?

“One women accused him and then 15 more, smelling opportunity and $$, jumped on the bandwagon.”

You’re defending Cosby because of his politics. This is wrong. I knew some of the women working there at the time, and I know Bill Cosby was known to them as a threat they wanted to avoid, because of his bad reputation among the Playboy mansion workers. If you don’t like the fact that Gloria Allred is the attorney representing some of these women, then you need to think twice and ask yourself why one or more conservative attorneys have not come forward to handle these cases before Gloria Allred represented them after all of these decades. It is a real shame that conservatives are not the first to step forward, investigate, and prosecute a case gainst such an admitted rapist. let there be no doubt, Cosby did admit to such behavior in one or more of the previously settled cases.

“But 40 years!?”

Thee is an exception on the basis of alleged child rape and pedophilia. In other words, the court finds the statute of limitations “tolled”, meaning it was suspended, until the present day occurrence of the injury first inflicted during childhood. The case perhaps also tolls due to the child not being an adult with the legal capacity to bring a civil suit at the time of the rape.

Exactly——the sodomite elites knew about his activities from the VERY start of his “career”-—and they did not take him down, then, for a reason. They allowed him much success for decades (for a reason always).

Then, he went off the “plantation” as you say——so he has to be discredited and destroyed. (It is Libido Dominandi-—sexual freedom creates slaves for the elite—so they can bribe and control them).

You can ALWAYS tell what “meme” is being pushed by the elite sodomite MSM for their Worldview has to be supported 100%——so we “progress” and all the children can have the Christian worldview totally erased—for the NWO. Vice creates slavery and collapse of culture.

They need the Natural Family and concept of “mother and father” destroyed and Cosby portrayed a really healthy image-—one of the few role models for a happy, decent, loving family which had a “father”.

Acquaintance rape and date rape have always been well known, and the old custom of having a chaperone on a date is the proof of it. Women then and now made a practice of going around in public with another woman, such as a girlfriend, to safeguard her safety and her reputation. Whether it was in the 1920s or now in 2015, there are always some women who take chances where an incident could end up being their word against the word of the alleged rapist. Prosecutors and courts in the past tended to take a dim view of such negligence, but that has been changing in recent times given the new forms of forensic evidence to support the woman’s accusations in some cases.

“not ONE of them said anything for 40 years?”

No, you are completely wrong. I can’t remember the details but there wee some attempts made to have Cosby under criminal investigation for rape when it happened and another tried to have her personal attorney sue in a civil case, but the attorney refused. There are also the cases Bill Cosby already settled out of court about ten years ago or so for undisclosed terms, the court records of which were recently ordered released by a court. that was how we now know he admitted some of his use of drugs in the sexual attacks upon women.

The reason was probably thank he was the first black lead on a TV series, I Spy. It would have been a major scandal and disgrace to take him down.

Just like with today, nobody wants to take down the first black president.

This is suspicious. It has all the earmarks of a modern-day, high-tech lynching. Just because lots of people are on the bandwagon doesn’t mean it isn’t a lynching. A lynching, by definition, requires a lot of people. Cosby has, as one poster noted, run away from the government’s plantation by criticizing the thug life. Let’s at least withhold judgment until he has his day in court. If it turns out he really is this scum bag, bury him.

On rethinking the memory angle, if he is a decent guy he probably would remember the incident, assuming he knew she was indeed 15. As I mentioned before, anybody who even let an underage person visit what is, apparently, a whore house run by a big corporation, needs his head examined. But if he is the scumbag these women claim then it is unlikely that the events made much of an impression. I just find the whole thing difficult to believe. How many times have we seen this lynching attempted? Remember the Duke Lacrosse team? There probably wasn’t any money there, but there are millions of dollars here, for the taking.

I hope justice, whatever it turns out to be, prevails.

Of course sexual assault was rampant in the past which is why there were all kinds of strict social norms and mechanisms preventing women putting themselves in vulnerable situations. I’m saying rape in the ‘70’s was generally defined as a stranger forcing the woman to have sexual intercourse under the threat of bodily injury, she resisting strenuously, and there was outside corroboration.

It’s mostly because Cosby went off the plantation and started criticizing the thug life.

Yep.
