Maybe. But shouldn’t they be required to have proof before they euthanize the dogs?

Hearing is scheduled. There has to be more to the story but all articles googled are similar.

According to the story the owner claims the other incidents in question were not the same dog

You left out the part where she says they LOOK like the same dogs. I bet they do. In fact I bet the resemblance is so close even a microscopic examination wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I saw that. Still, the dogs have not hurt anyone. In my neighborhood we periodically get a problem dog for various reasons. Patience usually offers a resolution. It is unfair to just target dogs because the neighbor is scared. The majority of dogs in my neighborhood would be targeted under that rule — even my own dog.

Euthanize the woman, not the dogs.

Some insurance companies will give you a lower insurance rate if you own a dog.

Would love to see a list of those insurance companies. I have a labradoodle and my homeowners insurance is higher because of him.

Well, I probably should have qualified my comment. My own insurance company 30 years ago considered it a benefit similar to a security system. Perhaps things have changed. I have not researched it and so I apologize for the broad statement. It could be totally different these days.

I would think that the benefits set against the risks of a dog would at minimum be a wash. If it leaned more heavily one direction, I would think it would be in the direction of a security benefit. I am not sure that all home insurance policies covers dog bites. They do cover theft.

Now renters insurance would be another matter. In that case the policy would potentially cover damage to the property done by the dog. I have never given all of this a ton of thought except to note the benefit years ago.

That is about how dogs affect your homeowners insurance. It is all about bites.

I guess I was way off, but I remember when my husband and I bought our first house the insurance guy asked us about security and about a dog. He said the dog was better security than a lot of security systems. I thought that gave us a benefit but it is possible I am remembering wrongly. He went over a whole list of things with us that affected the premium. We have moved since then, but have the same insurance guy so I never thought about it again. We have had several different dogs and have never updated the info of been asked about it again.

At the length, it looks like it varies by state and by insurance company. Bites are the issue with no mention of the benefit of security.

Bullets go both ways.

Big talk. Don't recall reading any stories where the cops silenced a dog and the bullets went both ways since ruby ridge.

Patience usually offers a resolution

Yes, you can put up with the nuisance for years until the dog dies of old age, but then the owner will get another and let it do exactly the same things.

So you would be afraid to defend your dog from a douche bag neighbor?

Gotcha.
