He started the company. And it’s been a lie from day 1. Actually it was more of a lie in his days. He was selling AV in 1987 when there weren’t any viruses to be anti.
There probably wouldn’t even be that much data loss. At least not permanent. While CPUs and motherboards and maybe even HDD controllers that were in unprotected building very close to the blast would get fried, the actual platens themselves should be OK and the data could be recovered.
@ 50% fatalities nationwide over two years is plausible. It would get to 90% only in areas with water supplies dependent on electric power, i.e., southern California and the urban Southwest, and that would happen in the first summer.
First, all the others ARE religions. Religions are man made up. Religion is man attempting to get to God. Christianity IS NOT a religion. Christianity is God reaching out to man kind. Jesus Christ is the only way to God. He states it in the Bible. NO WHERE in any other holy book does anyone say that. In the koran it is you believe in allah or we will kill you. There is nothing in the Bible saying believe or I kill you. No, God gives us FREE WILL. WE can believe or not believe. It free will. Believe or not believe. This pope is misleading people. Telling them homo's are okay with God. WRONG again!!! Homosexuality is an abomination to God. He destroyed two cities, Sodom and Gomorrah for this abomination, along with every person in those cities. THIS pope is leading people straight to hell.
He is the UN's poster child. Did you see all those crowds of people peeing on their selves just to get to him, to touch him. They were worshiping HIM, not God. With so many people falling over themselves to get to him, everything he says they will suck up and believe and follow what he tells them to do. NOT ME!!! I follow Jesus Christ. Not some human being. Humans are sin filled. This pope is sin filled, just as you and I. I ask God to forgive me of my sins. This pope tells sinful people their sins are okay with God. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! He is misleading people to hell.
The likes of this pope, Obama, and those of the UN are pushing for their one world government. The pope tells everyone that the USA is the bad boy on the block. That we should share our wealth with the world. WELL Mr. pope, how about you and the Vatican sharing some of those billions YOU have in your bank accounts. The Vatican is rich to the max, yet shares nothing with any peoples who need help. My wife and I give more to charities than our vice president!! He gives 50 cents and thinks he has done good. I doubt the prez gave a dime.
There is NO mention of a western power in the end times in the Bible. Thus, America must fall. This Agenda 2030, along with the full UN, Obama and this lying pope are going to do everything they can to destroy America. Guess what folks, in some form, America is going to fall. Thus I would suggest you get right with Jesus Christ because HE is the ONLY way out of this mess. Repent and come to Him. All the countries in the middle east, China, Russia and Europe are all mentioned in the end times in the Bible. NOT America or any country in this hemisphere. America is going to fall. Probably soon. The world is in its last days. The end is in sight. Come to the LORD. He is the only way. Ask Him to forgive you and enter a personal relationship with Him. Time is short. The end could come at any minute. No one knows when. Don't believe all these mouths that tell you it will happen on a certain date. The Bible says NO MAN knows the time. Only God.

But your knowledge of computer virus history is incomplete. Computer viruses were invented in the 1970's, and appeared on personal computers in the early 1980's. By 1986 there were viruses for the IBM PC already in the wild, and they were common knowledge among computer engineers -- I know, I had been designing and producing small computers for a decade at that point. Anybody worth his salt saw the potential danger of the things. McAfee simply decided to make some money at it.

Incidentally, I never liked McAfee's software, and the one time a company I was working for thought about getting and deploying it, I argued strenuously against it. Just sayin'...
But how many PCs were actually talking to each other in 1987? He was selling AV to the masses as necessary when the masses were not physically capable of getting viruses. Anti-virus companies have been grossly over selling the virus threat for their entire existence.

Two totally different events. Carrington was charged particles saturating exposed, bare electrical circuits such as telegraph lines. This weapon is a high dosage of microwaves which will fry devices as if they were inside a microwave oven. It’s basically a small-scale, long burn of one of the elements of a nuclear EMP.

A nuke designed to enhance the EMP effects (not hard to design for a nation-state) would reek incredible damage. A super large explosion is not necessary and, incredibly, an atomic bomb produces more than a hydrogen bomb as a percentage of its yield. Perfect for Iran or the Norks. Deploy one over California, one over Texas and one about mid-way up the East Coast, and you will have 1/10 of our population in less than a year. You can’t produce or transport food or fuel - so if you don’t starve to death, the marauding gangs looking for food (which may include you and your family), or disease, will. Civilization is a very thin veneer, and we are dependent on a complex system of complex systems for that which we take for granted every day. Knock out a key component like electricity, and the whole thing comes tumbling down, and it does so very quickly.

Viruses were transferred by floppy diskette long before personal computers commonly had Ethernet jacks. Do you forget that until hard drives became common in the latter part of the 80's, the OPERATING SYSTEM itself had to be booted up from a floppy? Virus-laden diskettes were all the rage among troublemakers. Games were particularly prone to being malware carriers, but there were infected diskettes with MS-DOS, PC-DOS, even the Mac had a few as I recall.

I did some research and found the possibilities are mixed. While there are lots of doomsayers out there...there are more cases where they say your car will stop. But then it will start right up again after.
This is one of those things I am not going to worry about.
