Please know that any co-pilot on a commercial passenger jet is well qualified to fly and land the plane. Not a big deal for one pilot to pland a plane. Definitely tougher with no pilots.
I know that—and in an emergency, I would get on a plane again.
However, life is good these days. I’ve been to every foreign country I ever wanted to visit—and all our kid’s now live within 5 driving hours from where we live.
Heck, several of our grandkids are now driving, so I have lots ways to go—on the ground—LOL!
oooo got to watch that one
When I go I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather rather than screaming in agony like his passengers.
What a moron. Do NOT panic the passengers.
The cause of death has not been released.
Natural causes or murder or terrorism.
Six degrees of separation...daughter-in-law’s friend lost a toddler over Yuma (not at 3:10!) a few years back. You never know when it’s going to be a bad time to be stuck in an aluminum tube at 25,000’.
My uncle was a TWA pilot. His wife was instructed to watch his diet like a hawk. If he wanted a fried egg, she had to wring out the extra grease in a paper towel. Uncle had taught flying to the Canadians as a civilian, but Dad had joined the Army long before Pearl Harbor. My Dad turned out to be color blind and was grounded. He spent the entire war teaching engine mechanics on the ground in Orlando.
Dad ate his eggs regular and chased them with a highball every night. Dad lived to be 89. Uncle died of liver cancer at 57, but not while on board.
So sad for the pilot and his family.
LOL! That was too fast!! OMG> Prayers up for the pilot’s family.
RIP.
Congrats on the opportunity to no longer fly. I fly about 100 flights per year with all the perks and benefits.....and I still don’t like it.
