Prior to 1958 I think it was, since I got my U.S. citizenship in 1957, Britain did not recognize anyone giving up their British citizenship, so on acquiring another citizenship you then became a dual national, a citizen of the country you chose, plus remained a citizen of Britain. Emily Blunt is NOT a dual national. She renounced her British citizenship and is now an American citizen. Each country has different laws on dual nationality, I am sure, but in Britain once you renounce it these days, you lose it.
To claim moral superiority (as most Hollywood types do) I find it repugnant that a "line reader" stupidly admit that she turned her back on the country of her birth, so she could pay less than her fair share to the crown.
Pointing out once again it does not take intelligence to command a superior paycheck, more just mediocre talent.
Taxman
By The Beatles
Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
Cos I’m the taxman - yeah, I’m the taxman
Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
Cos I’m the taxman - yeah, I’m the taxman
If you drive a car I’ll tax the street
If you try to sit I’ll tax your seat
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat
If you take a walk I’ll tax your feet
(Taxman)
Cos I’m the taxman - yeah, I’m the taxman
Don’t ask me what I want it for
(Taxman Mr. Clinton)
If you don’t want to pay some more
(Taxman VAT)
Cos I’m the taxman - yeah, I’m the taxman
And my advice for those who die
(Taxman)
Declare those pennies on your eyes
(Taxman)
Cos I’m the taxman - yeah, I’m the taxman
And you’re working for no one but me
(Taxman)
What were they called during the American Revolution?
Tories, all of them fighting us. But now the Tories are the only Conservatives. They have multiple parties in Britain, and UKIP IS to the right of the Tories, but not a viable party yet. All the rest are successively Leftist.
