I like the satire quoted in the last paragraph above. Of course, Apple gave ALL developers of products that want to be used on Apple advance copies of El Capitan to test and reprogram their application where necessary. And Microsoft apparently did an inadequate job on those responsibilities.
It is Microsoft that needs to fix their own software and it is definitely NOT the responsibility of Apple developers to fix Microsoft’s code. Since I upgraded to El Capitan, I’ve been using the 2011 version of Office for Mac and have had no problems. But I only use it for Excel (and I’ve used that A LOT) and apparently that is not where crashes are occurring.
I never thought I'd see the day where Microsoft software crashes... Oh, they make Windows, don't they? Never mind!
Seriously, they had the Beta El Capitan for many months, didn't they? Someone's head at Microsoft should roll for this. I still use 2011 Excel and Word, but am increasingly relying on Numbers and Pages on my Mac.
Yup. I have been running the captain beta since June and it has been flawless. Of course, I have no Redmond crap within a mile of any of my boxes....
