Sadly, I have found that it is useless to reason with the conspiracy theorists on these threads. There is a small but vocal percentage of posters on here who see a conspiracy behind everything.
The smart move by investigators is to withhold the name until they can execute a search warrant on the residence/vehicle of the shooter to obtain evidence. Putting out the name prematurely could prevent the recovery of such evidence and investigators don’t want to wade through a mob of reporters to try and interview/notify family members and friends that might shed light on the motivations. The dumbasses with minimal access to the facts are usually the ones “leaking” to the press to show how important they are. The real investigators are busy and unconcerned about what the public knows right away.
Our insatiable need to know everything immediately often leads to errant conclusions devoid of facts and feeds the same agenda driven crap we despise when we watch the endless talking heads on cable networks. An incident like this will be fully investigated to a standard that would hold up in court. It will be fact driven to the best of their ability - after all, it’s their community most impacted.
Thanks for trying to be a voice of reason, but don’t get too frustrated. I have learned to just patiently wait for facts to emerge and don’t get too wrapped up in the speculation phase. I suppose it is a natural inclination on the part of all of us to want to understand something so insane or even assign political motivations to such an act (like acts of terrorism).
They would also want to try and find out if there are any co-conspirators.
I agree 100%, just sometimes the ignorance on here is sometime is amazing, I like to get details first and then go from there.
