ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel took time out of his opening monologue on Wednesdays Jimmy Kimmel Live to grumble over the news that Pope Francis secretly met with Kentucky clerk Kim Davis last week during his visit to the U.S. and quip that it would have been better if he met with Kim Kardashian or murderous North Korea dictator Kim Jong-un instead.
Emphasizing that while the Pope may have returned to the Vatican, Kimmel started off by admitting that hes still giving us a lot to think about as he somehow carved out time to meet with Kim Davis.
As for why the visit took place, Kimmel joked that the Pope wanted to deliver a message to Kim from God, which was fire your stylist.
Griping to the crowd how crazy it was that the meeting happened, Kimmel added that he was surprised that Kim Davis was able to get the time off from not doing her job to visit with the Pope.
Kimmel elaborated on what took place during the visit and it was then that he reached his boiling point: Really? I think I would rather the Pope met with Kim Kardashian than Kim Davis while he was here. I'd rather he met with Kim Jong-Un when he was here.
Before moving on, Kimmel took a stereotypical swipe at the intelligence of Davis and her fellow Kentuckians: Someone should tell the Pope, I know this is his first time in America, but somebody should explain Kim Davis is what happens when your state has more Waffle Houses than schools.

JIMMY KIMMEL: Meanwhile, Pope Francis may be gone, but hes still giving us a lot to think about. Turns out, during his very busy visit last week, the Pope somehow carved time out to meet with Kim Davis, the woman who refused to issue the same-sex marriage license in Kentucky. The reason they met is the Pope wanted to deliver a message to Kim from God, which was fire your stylist. [LAUGHTER][CHEERS AND APPLAUSE] Isn't that crazy? I'm surprised that Kim Davis was able to get the time off from not doing her job to visit with the Pope. She claims the Pope hugged her, thanked her for her courage, and told her to stay strong. Really? I think I would rather the Pope met with Kim Kardashian than Kim Davis while he was here. I'd rather he met with Kim Jong-Un when he was here. Someone should tell the Pope, I know this is his first time in America, but somebody should explain Kim Davis is what happens when your state has more Waffle Houses than schools. [LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE]
No, it was appropriate for His Holiness to highlight his dedication to Biblical marriage and his concerns at the ways it is being abused by meeting with Davis. She is a flawed messenger, but a messenger on the war against marriage nevertheless.
Kimmel, effeminate little punk feeding the low information voters crap.
What an ass. It is incredible how easily people are convinced to abandon what is right in order to curry favor with the weaklings who can’t think for themselves or form some type of meaningful moral platform upon which to conduct their lives.
Moreover, Kentucky is a beautiful state full of solid people. If you haven’t been there, it’s worth a trip, especially the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot.
Agreed. In another time and place this lady would be a Christian martyr. Not exactly as flamboyant as St Joan of Arc, but the intent is the same.
Why must we, western culture, completely kowtow to Islam and its practices but insist on walking all over longer-held Christian doctrine?
Kimmell sure has turned into a douche. I always thought he was a little more common sense in his humor. Lately, it’s very agenda driven.
Damn. Another celebrity off my list permanently. It’s so bad, there’s nothing left on TV or in the movies without some celebrity I loath.
Even documentaries are politicized.
Aside from talk radio which honestly gets tiresome - they talk and talk and bitch and moan but never organize a protest - FreeRepublic has become the only source of information I rely on.
There should be a FreeRepublic channel on cable.
Kimmel was saying in essence that Kim Davis is worse than Kim Jong Un, the mass murdering dictator of North Korea who summarily executes his enemies and his people in general and operates a network of concentration camps where people die.
That just shows us how insane and totalitarian the supporters of gay marriage are and how they would justify any kind of act including violence against those who oppose them like Kim Davis.
40 somethings telling 70 somethings what 20 somethings want to hear.
He gets his material from DU, Salon. etc. Not funny.
True. Kimmel (or his writers) thought the play off the word “Kim” was so cute that he was willing to make a fool of himself in order to carry it off.
“Kimmel: Pope Should Have Met with Kim Kardashian or Kim Jong-un Instead of Kim Davis”
Go Clinton yourself Kimmel.
There should be a FreeRepublic channel on cable.
I agree. I have been watching more Newsmax lately and much of it is impressive coverage. I have given up on Hollywood and most of television as the gay, anti business, slavery victimhood, diversity nonsense just never stops. It will take blood in the streets someday to actually stop it. Who knows when.
Between FR and decades of great BBC docs I stream from YouTube through Chromecast, I forget that there is even such a thing as cable TV.
Lots of great conservative commentators and activists on there too.
Like it or not, the POPE is still the most important leader in the Christian world even though we differ on some points of doctrine.
He picked the wrong entertainer to visit. :)
Same here re Chromecast - Goodbye cable, with the added benefit of knowing my $$ don’t support Hollyweird in any way.
He was never on my list. I have not watch a late night tv show since Carson retired.
