FBI Director James Comey has started briefing select lawmakers on the status of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private server, and confirmed investigators are actively looking for evidence the server was compromised by a foreign entity or hacker, a congressional source told Fox News.
According to the source, Comey also reassured lawmakers his “top people” are handling the investigation. Comey said no resource is being spared and his team is working “24/7” to determine whether classified information was compromised, the source said.
No evidence of a breach has been confirmed so far, Fox News is told.
Speaking to an annual intelligence conference in September, Comey was asked by Fox News whether he could assure the public that the high-stakes investigation would not be influenced by politics.
“I’m not going to comment, as we never do, on any particular investigation of ours,” Comey explained. “But I can assure the American people about this, I hope they already know it about the FBI, we are three things — we’re competent, we’re independent, and we’re honest. We do all of our work that way. We don’t give a rip about politics. We follow the facts where they lead us. We do our work professionally, and we also do it in secret so that we don’t jeopardize our ability to do it well.”
Security analysts and lawmakers previously have cited the risk of any top-level official using a private email account.…

Yes.
It is not whom is doing the investigation that matters, it is what are they investigating that matters.
They should be looking into extortion in favor of the clinton crime family foundation, misuse of classified information, obstruction of justice to name a few things not so much whether it was compromised. Frankly, it could have been compromised anywhere but the point is it would not have been so had it been properly secured.
Results to date:
We checked all the out bound e mail folders and found no record anyone had gained access to the server, case closed.

We will soon be hearing something like this, “after months of an exhaustingly and thorough investigation by our “A” team, we have found nothing that would suggest Mrs. Clinton was criminally involved and that although some mistakes were made, none were intentional. With this said, we don’t seem any reason to continue our investigation and consider this matter closed.
This, of course, will allow her to do the “I told you so” and exhume the vast right wing conspiracy, which will propel her right into the White House. She will be stronger than ever and I do believe this has been the plan all along.

You are correct in questioning that statement. Here is my version of the article quote:

What would be the advantage of admitting that it was hacked?
Just like Lois Lerner’s IT Department doing all in their power to restore her hard drive . . . with a sledgehammer.
