I think the old-school, slow moving Zombies would probably be easy to stop. Initially, for every one of them, you’d have hundreds (even thousands) of armed people.

The fast moving zombies of “28 Days Later” would be another matter. The incubation time is also key. Days would be easy. Hours harder. Minutes....impossible.

The wildcard factor in the spread would be people who can’t accept that their loved ones are zombies (or zombifying). These people would be legion and detrimental to any quarantine efforts.

As an ex-tanker, one of our running cadences went like this:

Crunch, crunch, crunch, is the sound
Got grunts in my sprockets going round and round.

The toughest thing about a zombie appocalypse would be cleaning out the treads with a high pressure hose.
