The increasingly confrontational behavior of contemporary police is not helping matters.
The shaved head, tactical/tacticool gear, and steroided approach isn't beneficial, either.
While I remain a supporter of L.E. in general, rarely do I find myself saying, "Gee, there is a police officer in my rear view mirror. Boy, do I feel safer with him driving nearby."

Correct. It is disgusting.
The shaved head, tactical/tacticool gear, and steroided approach isn't beneficial, either.
I agree. They seem to continuously forget that regardless of their training and tactics and equipment and attitude and budgets and military vehicles... that they are not prepared to operate on an even-force basis.
I expect that even a rudimentarily trained insurgent unit of domestic patriots, having preplanned to a limited degree, would have a turkey shoot on any SWAT unit that showed up to a manufactured situation.

Hell, I don't think a single American has felt that for a very, very long time.
I would suspect that the fraction of all Americans who view law enforcement in their rear view mirror as an active danger and oppressive threat is very close to 1.

You got it. They’re not doing themselves any favors. As of now, 99+ percent of America is not a combat war zone nor are Americans the enemy. For their sake they better pray it remains that way.
