Declare the cat a Muslim. The German courts would see this case differently.

Seriously????
There is just so much wrong with this that I don’t even know where to begin. It’s ludicrous. And what business of any court is the breed of cat a breeder chooses to breed?
I hope the cat’s owner continues to fight this. A breed of cat should not be made extinct just because a judge doesn’t like it.
Personally, I think sphinx cats are adorable. I’d love to get one, if not for the price tag and the fact that I have too many cats as it is.

So a cat without whiskers is "animal cruelty," but CASTRATING it isn't?
Idiocy!

May I respectfully request that Judge Christian Oestmann be involuntarily castrated so he doesn’t pass on idiot genes (clearly human abuse) to any offspring.

A champion cat isn’t hunting voles in the field at night. Judge could have ordered a nightlight in each room of the house.Or he could mind his own beeswax, pardon the language.
To: nickcarraway
I don’t like the look of those cats and don’t want one, but it’s not my place to make that decision for others. It is certainly not a judge’s place to outlaw a breed based on something so silly. Judges like that disgust me, and there are far too many of them.

What???? Sphynx cats are delightful little creatures (though I admit their looks take some getting used-to). And they feel lovely — like a muscular hot water bottle covered in velveteen. I hope this nonsense about the missing whiskers doesn’t spread.
