>My grandparents Laura and Howard have been married 73 years. In this video Howard is 92 and Laura is 93. Laura (Grandma) is at a hospice facility making peace with her final days. I was lucky enough to capture this precious, heart-melting moment between the two of them.
Not smug, certainly not pious. BUT, I do have a very good knowledge of Scripture. Apparently you missed those classes!
Are you Roman Catholic? That would explain things!
There is an element of arrogance and pride in the above. I know it as I suffer the same malady.
There would appear to be a remnant in both the Protestant and Catholic organizations. Both camps need to do a lot of repenting.
Many are experts in scripture, they know the words but don’t have the music. And there are some who have the music, but don’t have the words. We need to learn both.
I thank you for the pondering I will need to do today.
How dare anyone on this thread diminish in any way the beauty and love of these two elderly people to say goodbye after a lifetime together? I wish I had been able to say I Love You and kiss my husband goodbye when he died suddenly next to me at 3:11 a.m. in 2011. I was left to try to save his life when I realized he wasnt breathing. I dont wish that on anyone here or elsewhere! I think those who post uncalled for comments about the beauty of this couples love is jealous that they never found love. Perhaps we can see why!
Some of the uncalled for comments on this thread are proof of why wars are fought over religion. Each of us is entitled to our own faith and religious beliefs; just dont shove them on anyone else. Intolerance is not a virtue!
Amen.
I wish I had been able to say goodbye to my husband like that.
Oh my Lord.
I am so sorry for your loss.
