Whether a disaster on the scale that some people i.e. preppers are predicting occurs or not, there's little the great majority of the population can do about it. Unless again you're either allied with other people, neighbors, or live way out in the boonies.

The best-prepared preppers, by themselves, will not survive much longer than the totally unprepared types if the former are living in high-populated areas. That's the unfortunate fact for the preppers. Of course they could have that fold-out helicopter ready to whisk them away what the shtf.

Granted a co-op is the only way for the worse case scenario, but the worse case is at the far end of the spectrum there are plenty and far more likely occurrences at the other end of that same spectrum that can just as easily kill the unprepared. Most people don’t even have a weeks worth of food on hand, during the shelter in place and search of the Boston bombs police were getting calls about baby formula and diapers and that wasn’t even a full day.

Funny how many depend on the ‘gubberment’ for everything even their very lives and those of their love ones and that what really gets me is a family man who doesn’t even try to do even the basics and gives his families lives over to the keeping of bureaucrats and thugs.
