A Miami-Dade Police Department public service aide shot at a group of dogs that gained access to his yard and attacked his dog, according to Miami-Dade Police.
Police said the gun is registered under the PSA's name. According to police, six German Shepherd dogs gained access to the PSA's backyard, located on Southwest 157th Street in Miami-Dade. Police said the group of dogs attacked the homeowner's American Bulldog.
The homeowner, who was off-duty at the time of the incident, began firing shots at the dogs. None of the dogs were hit. The American Bulldog was taken to the veterinarian to be treated for lacerations.
Animal Services and the owner of the German Shepherds were at the scene where an investigation is ongoing.
The owner surrendered the six German Shepherds to Animal Services, who will evaluate their temperaments and decide their fate.
"They're big dogs. They'll knock a hole in the fence and get out," said Alan Satterlee, who owns the German Shepherds.
Neighbors said the dogs are a nuisance, and flat out dangerous.
"I just know they are big and always getting loose and running around. He does not control them, I guess," said one neighbor, whose grandmother was once chased by the dogs into her house.
Neighbor William Pulgaren described how the dogs pushed down his fence to get at his dog, and he said it happens a lot, "Every day. All the time. 2:00 in the morning, in the afternoon, different hours."
"They've gotten out. They run down the street, they run back home. I've never seen them aggressive ever. They're like big puppies. They're big, though, and they're scary but I never saw them aggressive before," Satterlee said.
The other owner of the dogs apologized for what happened, "I'm sorry, it was an accident. I have to get something fixed so it won't happen again."
“”They’re big dogs. They’ll knock a hole in the fence and get out,” said Alan Satterlee, who owns the German Shepherds. “
Hey, idiot, pay for a stronger fence and your dogs *won’t* get out.
>> None of the dogs were hit.
You need some target practice, my friend.
So, a cop TRIES to shoot dogs but misses. Hmmmmmmmm....!
To be fair to the cop, there’s a reason why an aerial combat between multiple aircraft moving quickly and confusingly is called a ‘dogfight’ and/or ‘a furball’. Canines fighting in a group are fast paced, quickly moving and hard to hit with a firearm if you are trying to avoid killing your own dog.

Sounds more like someone that shouldn't have access to a gun. Glad the Bulldog will be OK, but crap you can't hit something the size of a German Shepherd in your backyard? Just how freakin big is the yard?
A couple of days ago I was following a neighbor through his yard while his dog snapped at me. He said, “don’t worry. He won’t bite.” Just as he said it the dog lunged forward and bit the back of my leg. Then, I had to convince him I’d just bin bit while he told me the dog has never bitten anybody. Okay, blood, torn pants...
Some dog owners live in a fantasy world.
Where are those “kill them all” guys? Oh wait these weren’t pit bulls.

They can’t dodge full auto!
Dog owners are generally shocked when their dogs demonstrate very different behavior when they are in a pack. The nicest, friendliest animal can become savage in a shocking display.
Ping
His yard, attacking his dog. No problem with shooting other than the need for more range time.
And did he make certain he knew where the bullets ended up?
Six dogs is a pack. Apparently the owner is not the alpha male.
BTW, didn’t know Florida had fun registration.
*gun
you’re a fool if you can’t see the inherent danger in the pit bull “breeds”. these dogs are bred to be killers. there are a handful of other extremely dangerous breeds as well, but pit bulls turn on their owners and others so frequently that this fact cannot be denied. so many women, children, and elderly are lying 6 feet under because some idiot pitbull owner said “oh, don’t worry, he won’t bite”. total BS. dangerous breed is dangerous. people who make excuses for their behavior are even more dangerous because they fool others into feeling they are safe. not every pit bull will attack a person, but the ones that do often do extreme amounts of damage compared to all but a handful of other breeds.

Go for it making the case about the potential danger of dogs,
but that particular site’s owner is a fanatic with no integrity
and it weakens your case to use it as a source.
Another jackass out-of-control dog owner. Who needs 6 dogs!!!
A 6-pack, to be precise :-)
