While Obama Cut A Sweetheart Deal With Iran, Look What Canada Just Did

President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry spent years negotiating an incredibly lucrative nuclear deal with Iran that not only paved Iran’s way to nuclear weapons technology, but also meant the release of $150 billion that will likely be used for nefarious actions against Israel and the United States in the future.

While all of that was taking place, our neighbors to the north took a drastically different course of action.

In 2012, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced that Canada had expelled all Iranian diplomats, but they didn’t stop there.

The Canadian government labeled Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism and pulled the plug on the Canadian embassy in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

“Canada views the government of Iran as the most significant threat to global peace and security in the world today,” Baird announced.

While Obama and Kerry sipped tea with Iranian government officials, Canada ceased all ties with the barbaric sponsors of terror, as they obviously knew that any type of relationship with Iran was nothing more than volunteering to be the victim in a national security con game.

Some of Baird’s specific reasons for ceasing ties with Iran included, at the time, Iran’s failure to comply with United Nations resolutions pertaining to its nuclear program, as well as their increased level of military assistance to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

Of course, Iran’s highly publicized close ties to terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah helped seal the deal .

Ironically, we often tease the Canadians for being too nice, but when it concerns national security, Canada made it crystal clear that they mean business.

Since there’s no hope of Obama changing his mind anytime soon, perhaps our future leaders could take a few notes from the Candian’s playbook,

I dread what the stupid voters of this country will do - although I have to say, he will be rather entertaining.

When the Iranians seized the US embassy in Tehran in 1979, 6 members of the staff were away from the building at the time. They took refuge in the Canadian embassy. The Canadians hid them and later managed to smuggle them out of Iran to safety.

The Americans had to practice the Canadian pronunciation of words like "about" and bone up on Canadian hockey teams, in case they were quizzed by suspicious officials at the airport.

I think they made a movie about that. Quite a story!

Were it not for Canada's horse-shit medical system, I think I'd move to Canada after reading this.

Then again, their horse-shit medical system prevents me from doing that.

I’ll say this, having crossed the northern border many times doing tours, I have noticed when reentering the U.S. what a stark difference there is in the conditions of the cities and towns. Canadian cities and towns are pristine and well kept. Reentering the U.S. there are slums and graffiti and trash. Very noticeable.

I happen to agree with you on the condition of Canadian cities. My limited experience to Toronto and Vancouver is that they're exceptionally clean and overall the people very nice.

Was in Vancouver a few years ago, the building boom there is incredible.

It certainly is booming there. On Alaska trips we usually visit at least three Provinces during the trip. The eastern seaboard Provinces and Montreal are also wonderful to visit., as well as the Canadian side of Niagra Falls.

I leave for Niagara Falls in the morning and will be there the night of the debate. Since I will be working, I hope that I’ll get my group back from dinner and settled by the time it comes on.

We have family in Western NY not far from the falls. Been to the Canadian side of the falls more times than I can count at this point. The Canadian Park District does an EXCELLENT job with their park system that's by the falls and goes down the river.

Comparatively speaking, the American side of the falls is a ghetto.

From my work in admissions at a Canadian post-secondary institution, I’m guessing that your daughter was in either Alberta or B.C.. Here in Ontario, while there are distinctions between schools, they are along the lines of distinctions that may be found between any schools rather than one system being clearly superior to the other.

The US is about to become the largest financier of terrorism. There should be serious consequences to the US for that act, too.

No big deal. The US has been the top arms supplier to ISIS, with the requirement that arms shipments go through Baghdad.

ISIS has all these American weapons and vehicles, never fired and only dropped once by the Iraqi army.

Yeah, there is that, while Obama starves the Kurds for weaponry and support which exposes his true agenda.

Shocking what some people think they know.

While the Alberta Catholic boards are, in my experience, good, was it by chance Clearwater Academy? This is a sort of independent Catholic school that is (or was) very good. The key guy, however, has moved on.

I really don’t know. I just know that the my daughter and her husband were very pleased with it.

They are now in Katy. TX which has an excellent public school system, so they are n longer in Catholic schools.

The tour will be entering Canada tomorrow. Overnight in Cleveland. I am not looking forward to that. The company changed hotels, because we were not in a safe area last time. Looking forward to seeing beautiful Niagara Falls again.
