Germany is a thriving wealthy country...the one that was able to bail out Greece.
But Germany has an acute labor shortage. Taking in the refugees is intended to give them a new labor supply....and is also why they announced free education for the refugees.
It’s not certain whether the industrious, religious Germans can deal w/ a bunch of unruly refugees intent on causing mayhem in Christian Germany.
Taking in immigrants to “solve” your shortage of low-skill labor only works if the immigrants are good workers. If they instead just go on welfare, then you are much better off without them.
“Cheap” unskilled labor just delays the development of automated solutions.
I think it is certain: civil war. Eventually, one side will find it necessary to completely eradicate the other.
Too early to place bets on the victor.
