Average weight for the large bales is 1,200 #. You only see large bales for commercial operations. Two string bales are
for the horsey set, three string for the gentleman rancher, and the round bales are keep on the ranch.

Yes and these are 3ft. by 4ft. by 8ft. 4X4X8s will go 1500 to 2000 depending on cutting and a high density bale will go up to 2600 or so. That is alfalfa...

Very compressed!

My neighbor got a few of those for his horse. You could try to get some hay off the bales, pretty much without success. About the only thing that worked was breaking off pieces with a pitchfork!
But the horse did seem to like it!
