The ongoing Bay Area heat wave has caused San Jose's Campbell Union High School District to schedule emergency minimum days for its seven campuses on Wednesday and Thursday.

School will end at 11:45 a.m. on both days, school officials announced Tuesday in a districtwide email.

The district's schools are Branham, Del Mar, Leigh, Prospect and Westmont high schools, and the alternative schools Boynton High School and Camden Community Day School.

Just how hot is there now, anyway? I spent last weekend down there, and it was quite pleasant.

I predict that property crime in the immediate area will experience a one-day spike.

Yeah. It’s about as hot as a cool day in Phoenix bout this time of year and the lightweights of the Bay Area think the world is ending.

We should all never forget that when we hear screaming, wailing and gnashing of teeth from the California Thumb Suckers: if life aint perfect they go into meltdown and start screaming “the end is near!”

One week of real summer and another week of real winter would destroy them.

It’s not Vegas or Phoenix heat but for here.. It cooks.

We get spurts a couple times a year.. I hate when the humidity whupped up down South blows this way.

Or the opposite. Do criminals want to go out in this heat?

No wonder De La Salle lost to Euless Trinity. The Texas heat got to them.

In other news, my son's scrimmage is still on for this afternoon. Should only reach high 80s today.

So globull warming is now cutting into Marxist indoctrination hours? No WONDER they're so against it! Failing to see the downside, myself.

I remember my first year in San Francisco, we had a similar heat wave, with highs in the 90s. I bought the last fan on the shelf at home depot. I now live in San Jose where not every building has AC, thank God my house does.

So when will they ask for more tax revenue to install AC in every school. They’re always saying they need more money.

Another rainfall last night. And we were finally getting a break from the constant lawn mowing ...
About 65 degrees, some cloud cover, otherwise sunny and balmy here in flyover country.

Branham Bruin here.

Although they'd never think of closing school for the heat back in the day.

I hear people recently arrived from other parts of the country to the Bay Area complaining about the heat as loudly as anyone.

It’s broiling here.

Yesterday the thermometer on the fence topped out above 120(it’s in the sun)

Vallejo is usually pretty mild.

90 in our non AC house in late afternoon.

I hope today is cooler.

No early outs in our town though.
